TOWN OF ACTON
SELECTMEN'S MEETING
APRIL 30, 2009 6pm
1. SALUTE TO THE AMERICAN FLAG
2. APROVAL OF AGENDA: Dennis motioned to approve Agenda as written adding 6. 6) Sanford Dispatch Contract signing, Tony motion, Dennis second.
3. APROVAL OF MINUTES OF LAST MEETING: Dennis motion Tony second.
4. SIGN WARRANTS: Tony motioned to sign the warrants, Dennis second.
5. OLD BUSINESS:
1) School Generator: Rich Michaud provided a Generator Bid from Northern Resource Power Solutions, LLC. Rich said the company is out of Portsmouth and Generators are their only product. We can expect other bids as the school is posting the Generator Bid in the newspaper.
2) Town Pound Bid Award: Nancy announced after reviewing the three bids from local contractors. Tony motioned to award David Winchell’s bid at $5,000, Dennis second.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
1) Town Clerk/Tax Collector office hour changes: Dennis informed the audience that Jennifer had asked the Selectmen that she close her office one hour early for a total five days over the next 5 weeks. Jennifer will post the days on the Website and bulletin boards.
2) Advertise bid for mowing of Town properties: Nancy stated that the Town would be going out to bid for the mowing of Acton Town properties.
3) Notice of postponement of Comprehensive Plan Implementation: Dennis stated that he met with the Committee and the Selectmen feel that that the Town should wait until November to vote and adopt the proposed Shoreland Zoning Amendments.
4) Reminder of School Vote May 5 and May 12, 2009 at 7PM at the Acton School
5) Fire and Rescue: Dennis stated that there is a rumor of the Fire Department taking over t he Rescue Department.
6) Added at Meeting: Sign Dispatch Contract with the Town of Sanford. Tony motioned to approve the Sanford Dispatch Contract, Dennis second.
