GREETINGS:
In the name of the State of Maine you are herby requested to notify and warn the inhabitants of said Town of Acton, qualified to vote in Town affairs to assemble at the Acton Town Hall on Wednesday, October 11th, 2006 @ 6:00pm in the evening to act on the following Articles:
ARTICLE 1: To choose a moderator for said meeting.
Richard Nass was elected Moderator, unanimously.
ARTICLE 2: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $18,400 from undesignated funds in the General Account to increase the Treasurer’s maximum salary from $17,000 to $35,400.
Finance Committee Recommendation: Approve article with maximum salary of $30,520.

ARTICLE 3:
To see if the Tow To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $1,500 from undesignated funds in the General Account to increase the Deputy Treasurer’s payroll account from $3,700 to $5,200.

ARTICLE 4: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $2,500 from undesignated funds in the General Account to increase the Tax Collector minimum salary from $11,220 to $13,720.

ARTICLE 5: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $2,500 from undesignated funds in the General Account to increase the Town Clerk minimum salary from $15,600 to $18,100.

ARTICLE 6: To see if the Town will vote to authorize the expenditure of $12,000 from undesignated funds in the General Fund for Municipal Employee Benefits.

ARTICLE 7: To see if the Town will vote to move $25,000 from Special Projects (Account 4700) to establish a Gravel Processing Account which will act like a self-sustaining enterprise fund; the use and purchase of the processed gravel to be deposited into a separate Gravel Pit Revenue account to offset the cost of future processing. The balance remaining in this account to be carried forward at the end of each fiscal year.

ARTICLE 8: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $3,500 from undesignated funds for State mandated Town Hall election renovations in order for the facility to become ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant for upcoming elections.

ARTICLE 9: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $3,658 from undesignated funds in the General Account for the purchase of TRIO Budgetary Accounting and Government Payroll System software. Initial software costs are $3,100 with the annual license fee of $558, totaling $3,658.

ARTICLE 10: To see if the Town will authorize the expenditure of $2,160 from undesignated funds in the General Account for the hiring of a Comprehensive Plan Secretary. Said person will receive a maximum of 20 hours per month at a rate of $12 per hour for the remainder of the fiscal year or prior if said duties are no longer required.
